Opportunity International Development Foundation (OIDF) organised a one-day training workshop on basic Information Communication and Technology (ICT) for six private school proprietors (Provident Educational Complex, Mawuko Educational Complex, Lebanon International School, Future VIP School, Golden Gate Academy and Best Way Academy) with their staff at the Methodist Secondary School ICT Laboratory at Tema on Friday 20th February, 2009. This was a prerequisite training for the introduction of software for school administration and recordkeeping beginning in March.

Topics covered in the training include computer parts and their functions, the desktop environment, windows applications, and using menus, buttons, bars and boxes. The ICT training which was facilitated by Harry Tetteh (ICT Program Officer, OIDF) was greatly appreciated by the trainees as it was the first time for most of them to use a computer. Many of the schools present requested for further ICT training programs to increase their knowledge on computers.
